Description
Atelier Cho Thompson has remodeled a former Coca-Cola bottling plant right into a welcoming and richly textured residence. We approached this adaptive reuse challenge with a delicate eye towards modernizing the 1890 brick constructing; tin ceilings and partitions had been restored, distinctive timber construction was uncovered, wood flooring had been uncovered, and the constructing’s outstanding options had been unearthed and celebrated within the renovation.
Drawing inspiration from the Italian American neighborhood of Wooster Sq., every unit takes a unique method to supplies and types. The second ground is an ethereal, vibrant, modern area with a coloration palette of sage inexperienced and terra cotta; the area options pure supplies like jute, rattan, and cork alongside colourful terrazzo and playful brass {hardware}. The primary ground, at the moment in development, is a wealthy, moody area with a coloration palette of deep cobalt and rust; the area options uncovered brick, polished concrete, and wealthy velvets. Salvaged supplies and classic furnishings had been sourced all through Connecticut to tie the area again to its historical past.
